Family Memory Trust (FMT) works to find new sources of information to advance genealogical research in or about Silesia, Posen, West Prussia and East Prussia, now areas of western and northern Poland. FMT supports individuals and groups in Poland and elsewhere working on making such information available to the public.

FMT also supports its partner organization in Wroclaw, the Urban Memory Foundation (UMF), a Polish, non-profit organization seeking to create awareness of Wroclaw’s pre-War (Breslau) Jewish community among the current population of Wroclaw, Jewish and non-Jewish One such element of the Breslau Jewish community is the now-destroyed Claassenstrasse (Gwarna Street) Jewish cemetery which was in use from 1761 to 1856, neglected already by the 1930s, and finally destroyed in the 1970s. FMT and UMF hope to create a memorial to the Claassenstrasse Jewish cemetery and the 4100+ people buried there.
